I have been honored ... receiving second place for my charcoal drawing of Azabache Campeon in "The Artist's Magazine" national competition. I just received the advance copies of the magazine I ordered for family and people who have purchased prints.
When I was contacted, I was asked not to share this information until the magazine was in circulation. So it is with great happiness that I can share this news.
There are so many gifted artists who I watch here at DA, and I am always amazed at how quickly some can produce such beautiful work. For me, it takes hours and hours of time working on details, perfecting, struggling to see and then seeing what I need to do. I have learned to be patient and to allow a piece to evolve... and through this patience I have been rewarded. Both of the traditional works I have posted have placed in shows, received honors that will surely add value to my work over time.
I have learned a great deal from being able to view other artists work here and I am very grateful for this. I have also been very blessed to have met some wonderful people who given me permission to use their photographs for my art. So to all who inspired me, helped me, have become my friends, given me support and encouragement, I send a huge thanks to you, for you are all a part of my sucess in this!
Happy Thanksgiving!
God Bless!

every time I see that leggy guy on the grey polo pony I think Prince Charles.
People play polo around here but I've never seen a match.

Prince Charles? He seems harmless so far as royalty goes, and he does seem to try to use his position to do a bit of good here and there. Can't imagine being born and having your life mapped out for you, much of which involves sitting around waiting for your mom to die.
We won't go into the messy personal stuff.
